RitVandaag

Own project
Period: 2026 - present

RitVandaag is my own product, live since late August 2026. Every hour it computes a ride score for road cyclists and mountain bikers from wind, rain, temperature and daylight. It then finds the best departure window of the day. The wind advice sends you into the wind first, so you come back with a tailwind. For the next two hours the rain forecast comes from Buienradar, in five-minute steps. Every town in the Netherlands has its own page, more than a thousand in total. Technically it is a single container: PocketBase compiled as a Go program, the score engine in TypeScript inside the built-in JavaScript runtime and a React SPA with Tailwind in front. Weather data comes from Open-Meteo and Buienradar. A React Native app is in development.
