I like working on the whole system. The screen, the API under it, the database under that and the server it sits on. When a screen is slow I can go and look at the query myself.

New frameworks, AI tooling and different ways of deploying run on my own infrastructure for a while first. What doesn't hold up there never reaches a client project.

I handle that maintenance myself, monitoring and backups included. In practice it comes down to expired certificates, package updates, full disks and migrations that trip over a single column.

I started out making games since I was a school student and that carries into client work. I like putting animation to playful use in websites and apps, as long as it stays out of the way of the controls. The blocks in the corner of this page come from that.
